I made this quick tutorial on how to farm plant fibers
Notice that you can salvage your dragon roots into plant fibers. Also notice that theres a minor chance they will drop a ruby
Anyway here is the stats:

Air Magic 5 (or 4+1)
Earth Magic 12+3+1
Energy Storage 4+1
Domination Magic 11
Inspiration Magic 1

Skills:
Glyph of Swiftness
Obsidian Flesh
Stoneflesh Aura
Stone Striker
Mantra of Earth
Storm Djinn's Haste (This is not neccesary you can use cry of pain instead)
Wastrels Demise
Wastrels Worry

I use an armor with geomancer insignas and superior vigor rune

Also notice that you need a staff or such with 20% ench. (A shield with +10 against earth is recommended)

If you're just getting started and are having troubles try to use a bonder monk
